Sighisoara, Romania – 2024.We spent a couple of hours walking through the old town and citadel of Sighisoara. The city has a long history dating back to the Roman times but the existing citadel and old town center had its beginnings in the 12th and 13th century. It has fortifications towers and walls, burgher houses, churches, narrow cobblestone streets and squares surrounded by old buildings. Sighisoara is the birthplace of Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), ruler of the province of Walachia from 1456 to 1462.
